ArtyA «Son of Earth Tobacco»

Passion has no limits. And neither has creativity - at least, not in case of Yvan Arpa, founder and designer of ArtyA. It is therefore natural that the world of cigar and watchmaking are united in the latest collection of the emerging independent brand ArtyA.
The Tobacco collection was born at ArtyA's creative workshops, based in Geneva, and features the first timepieces whose dial is entirely covered with real tobacco leaves.
For these unique creations the House of Grauer traveled to Cuba and manually collected tobacco leaves in Viñales in the province of Pinar del Río.
Indeed, ArtyA craftsmen have taken up the challenge of working with living material! Before it was placed in the heart of the watch, a tobacco leaf has been stabilized to make it stay as vivid as possible and to guarantee its perfect look over time. After conducting series of tests, Yvan Arpa states that "Tobacco will age just as well as the timeless passion of its owner!".
To give full expression to the contours and warm colours of the Tobacco, ArtyA chose to adorn it with a sober steel case, aptly named "Classique". Round-shaped, the watch case measures 44 mm and comes in polished steel, in black PVD treated steel, in Chocogold or in rose gold. The set is completed by three openwork hands: for hours, minutes and seconds. They perfectly suit the tone of the case forming a harmonious colour palette.
As with all unique ArtyA pieces, each wristwatch boasts a custom-made strap of a warm brown colour, overstitched in brown, or of a black colour, making an ideal match with the tobacco leaf of the dial. Hand-sewn, this bracelet is designed especially for Tobacco and is made individually by Italian craftsmen of exceptional knowhow. It brings a natural, authentic touch that seems to come straight from Cuban tobacco fields.
