Romeo y Julieta Grand Churchills Humidor
An exclusive humidor for the 20th anniversary of the Festival del Habano!
Named "Gran Alianza", the Romeo y Julieta Grand Churchills humidor was presented in 2018 at the XX Festival del Habano. In order to honour these 20 years of existence, Habanos has decided to once again call upon the famous Parisian workshop Elie Bleu to create this exclusive humidor.
Thus, in association with Jean-Philippe Martin, as had already been the case for the development of the Cohiba 50 Aniversario humidor, the craftsmen of the Elie Bleu workshop have created this magnificent box containing a unique treasure: 100 Grand Churchills.
Only 450 of the Gran Alianza humidor have been produced, reflecting the simplicity and beauty of the Romeo y Julieta brand and capturing its spirit through classic lines inspired by Renaissance architecture and furniture.
The case resembles an archway bridge and offers a majestic presentation for the cigars it contains. Indeed, they are arranged on 5 openwork trays (20 cigars per tray), also arch-shaped. Beyond the aesthetic aspect, this hitherto unheard of process offers an optimal conservation allowing perfect air circulation and a uniform distribution of humidity to each of these precious cigars.
The humidor is also an opportunity for Habanos to introduce a completely new vitola, the Grand Churchills. Featuring a 56 ring gauge and a length of 190mm (7.5 inches), it is a modern reinterpretation of the brand's emblematic vitola, the Churchills.
Each of the 100 cigars in the humidor are entirely handmade by the best torcedores in the La Corona factory from tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo area in Pinar del Rio, widely considered the best cigar tobacco growing land in the world.
In order to reinforce the exceptional character of the cigars, they are dressed with a double golden ring specially created for the occasion. In addition, the lower part of these great Habanos are covered with golden paper that not only preserves and protects the cigars, but also sublimates them and makes them even more exclusive.
