Italian evening

Thursday 12th September 2019 - 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM

The House of Grauer invites you to a tasting evening of Italian wines.

Viticulture in Italy dates back to the highest antiquity. The Romans and before them the Etruscans cultivated vine. The Greeks named the territory "Œnotria" which means the land of wine (a specific appellation of Calabria, which used to be a Greek colony). Vineyard can be found in all Italian regions from Veneto to Sicily.

According to the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), today Italy is the world leader in viticultural production with a total of 44.9 million hectoliters exported in 2013. Spain arrives in second position (44.7 million hectoliters) and France is at the third step of the podium (42 million hectoliters).
