Davidoff Oro Blanco

The most exceptional Davidoff cigar ever created!

The Oro Blanco is a (very) exclusive cigar made of the rarest tobacco, harvested in 2000-2001 in one of the richest soils in the whole Dominican Republic: Santa Cruz de Mao. Located in the northwest of the island in the province of Valverde, Santa Cruz de Mao is a place where the Mao, Gurabo and Yaque del Norte rivers make their way through the Mao lands.

Once harvested, this exceptional tobacco is aged for more than 12 years. At the end of the fermentation process, cigars are rolled by Davidoff's most skilful torcedores, who have over 15 years of experience. Each cigar then undergoes once more an additional year of ageing. During this time all the vitolas are examined and approved one by one by the master blender Eladio Diaz.

Once judged worthy of becoming "Oro Blanco", the cigars are dressed with a specific double band. The first is the classic white band with the brand logo and stamped "Special Reserve 2002". However, while it’s traditionally golden, this time the band is silver. The second band bears the cigar's name and the personal signature of Eladio Diaz.

The Oro Blanco is available in a box of 10 cigars and also in a single coffin of one cigar. Both bear the signature of Eladio Diaz and are made of wood and metal, revealing a considerable weight when in the hand. These two packaging, both very elegant, suit this cigar perfectly.

By all means, the Oro Blanco can boast impeccable looks and is easily recognizable. The wrapper is flawless and the uniformity of its colour is remarkable.

On the nose, the Oro Blanco releases aromas of leather, pepper, cedar with a predominant touch of vintage tobacco. They are followed by a great floral bouquet, along with notes of oak, hazelnut and some spicy touches. The resistance promises to be excellent.

Once lit up, a generous volume of smoke is released, plunging you into the oak flavours.

It only takes a few puffs to realize the exceptional character of the Oro Blanco. On the palate, a beautiful floral flavour appears followed by the touches of lavender, cedar and black pepper. There is a multitude of different aromas, the strength evolving with each puff. In terms of construction, the draw and combustion are pleasingly regular.

Subsequently, the sweetness of caramel enters the scene and initiates a change of direction in the aromatic bouquet, which now offers flavours of red orange, lemon juice, hazelnut with an aftertaste of poultry stock.

Its packaging, its construction, its unforgettably balanced and evolving aromas and strength make it a truly unique cigar. Even if it can be cut and lit up like any other cigar, it’ll offer you a significantly different, almost magical experience.
