The Padouk humidor, which has just been integrated into the classic collection, is a beautiful illustration of the verve and know-how of Elie Bleu. The house selects the best woods from around the world in the most remote places. Brought back to France, they are delicately shaped and treated to be placed on cigar humidors. Pterocarpus soyauxii, from its scientific name, the African padouk, formerly known as sandalwood, coralwood, or redwood, is a species of tree that grows in tropical and equatorial Africa. Offering sumptuous shades ranging from red to beige through brown and orange, it is without doubt the most colourful exotic throughout the world.
Working with this type of wood requires a great deal of skill and precision. The working secrets have always been well-protected by highly specialized, but above all, passionate workers.
