A great Habano for great celebrations!
If the Sancho Panza brand offers, since last year, only one cigar in regular production, let's draw on its past and discover the majestic Sanchos whose production unfortunately stopped in 2006. Before lighting it, let's have a look back at the origins of the vitola.
Majestic by its measurements. Indeed, the Sancho Panza Sanchos is a Gran Corona. It has a cepo of 47 and is 235 mm long. This imposing vitola is one of the largest rolled cigars in Cuba. Most of the Habanos brands that offered it in regular production stopped producing it at the end of the 20th century. The Sanchos will have resisted until 2006. To this day, the Gran Corona is still offered by only one brand, Montecristo, with the very famous Montecristo A which is the largest vitola still produced by Habanos. Moreover, only the Fabulosos from Partagás (a Giant Perfecto - 50 x 237mm) would be able to surpass it if it were still produced today.
Its plastic is attractive. The wrapper has a beautiful natural brown colour and a silky touch. The very sober band, slightly tarnished by the years, leaves us free to admire the draw of its remarkable construction. Such a result testifies to a real know-how and the use of tobacco leaf of exceptional quality.
Let's proceed with the lighting of this Sanchos from 2001. The lighting of such a vitola is always a great moment.
From the very first puffs, it lets us enjoy the vegetal and floral notes. The perfect draw, leads us to the divine, which changes the aromatic register. The vegetal notes give way to spices and cocoa. The smoke is ample, generous and plunges us into a woody atmosphere. The finish confirms the good impression.
At first glance, the Sanchos, with its 235 mm length, would lead us to believe that we are in the presence of a powerful cigar. In spite of this, it is an incredibly mild cigar, with a medium tobacco taste, aromatic, with hints of chocolate, pepper and spices, all perfectly rhythmic and balanced, down to the last centimeter.
It is necessary to give it time to express itself, a too quick tasting could make you miss this incredible and delicate combination of flavours.
A majestic Havano destined for exceptional occasions such as the coming festive season. Offering more than two hours of enjoyment, it will undoubtedly be a memorable tasting for every Cuban cigar lover who has the privilege of indulging in it.
