When you enter into our walk-in humidor, many of you were contemplating and admiring the beauty of our cabinets that protect each and every single cigar collection. That's why we decided to offer you this unique opportunity to bring a part of the House of Grauer to your home with these exceptional cabinets.
Entirely conceived and designed by the House of Grauer, this piece of furniture is the result of several months of the conception design in close collaboration with Christos Karnabakos, a Greek artist, cigar lover and true wood enthusiast. From the visual appearance to the technical characteristics and the materials used, every aspect of this cigar cabinet was thoroughly thought through. Once the design was created, no less than 640 hours of work were required to transform the dream and make it reality.
As a specialist in the design of custom-made humidors, Christos Karnabakos combines the knowledge he has acquired over 24 years of experience with the most demanding requests of customers.
Let's start with the visual aspect. The choice of wood was in direct correlation with the codes of the House of Grauer. A marvelous and very rare wood from South-East Asia, Macassar Ebony, or Diospyros Celebica by its botanical name, has long been considered one of the most precious woods. The fact that the trees grow in isolation rather than in groups makes harvesting from a logistical point of view, quite difficult. In addition, the slow growth of Macassar Ebony, ranging from 60 to 200 years, considerably limits the supply.
In addition to its preciousness, which was already attractive to the Egyptian pharaohs in their time, Macassar Ebony also has a unique aesthetic appearance. Its black to copper-brown veining highlights so beautifully the leather and marquetry inserts, giving it a very elegant and luxurious finish to this unique cabinet.
The interior is made of the finest materials, crafted with traditional techniques to make this Grauer display the perfect companion for your vitolas. The humidor is equipped with an electronically controlled system, connected to the mains, which distributes the ideal humidity evenly to the upper shelf. This was carefully thought through and incorporated to the design of the Spanish cedar tray itself. It is perforated with a multitude of circular holes, thus promoting the circulation of air between the different levels.
As a cigar lover and passionate wood artist, Christos Karnabakos knows very well how to create the ideal humidor that not only is so beautifully designed, but is also the perfect place to preserve Cuban cigars and protect them from the environment in order to enhance their coveted flavors.
