While the Cigar Club Matelica "Don Alejandro Robaina" has just confirmed the dates of the XVI edition of Encuentro Amigos de Partagás en Italia which will take place on June 29 & 30 and July 01 & 02, 2022, let's take a closer look at a very special production especially made for the XV edition.
Before that, let's review the context of this event, which has become a must for European Cuban cigar lovers.
Encuentro Amigos de Partagás en Italia is a festival that every year transforms the town of Matelica, located in the Marche region, into a small Caribbean oasis where every street and every store is dressed in the colours representing the tight bond between Italy and Cuba. More broadly, this event is a celebration of the culture, fine gastronomy and local wines of the city of Matelica and above all, the Habano.
Definitely not an event to be missed, filled with the spirit of Cuba with numerous tasting workshops, trainings, entertainment and gala dinners.
Encuentro Amigos de Partagas en Italia is organized by the Cigar Club Matelica "Don Alejandro Robaina" in close collaboration with the Municipality of Matelica, the Cuban Embassy in Italy and Diadema S.p.a., the exclusive distributor of Habanos for Italy, the Vatican and San Marino.
Chaired by Francesco Minetti, elected "Hombre Habanos Comunicación 2017" at the XX Habano Festival, the Cigar Club Matelica "Don Alejandro Robaina" was founded in 2005 as a cultural association, with the aim of creating events for the promotion of the territory, its historical and gastronomic peculiarities, as well as to allow its members to live their passion for the cigar.
Based on this philosophy, the Cigar Club Matelica has created these gatherings which have earned over the years the recognition to be the best cigar club in Italy. It currently has the largest number of members.
Encuentro Amigos de Partagás, being one of the few official Habanos events held outside Cuba, has become a reference event for aficionados. Thus, Diadema S.p.a., takes advantage of this opportunity to present us new products and special productions in honour of this very special event.
The one we are interested in today is the Cuaba Exclusivos Encuentro Amigos de Partagás en Italia humidor, which takes us back to 2020 when the Cuaba brand was crowned with this jewel. Produced in only 30 pieces, individually numbered from 0/29 to 29/29, exclusively for the event, this cedar humidor contains 25 Cuaba Exclusivos. Each of these humidors is very rare and features the beautiful blue-green Cuaba logo.
In 1996 the Cuaba Exlusivos entered into the catalogue of the specialized in Figurados brand. Still in regular production today, it remains exclusive to Cuaba and does not appear in the catalogue of any other brand of Habanos. This Perfecto, also called Exquisitos, has a Cepo of 46 and measures 145 mm long. A singular vitola, both thin and asymmetrical, offering a magnificent evolution of power, beautiful earthy notes with a slight spicy taste.
For the special occasion and to underline the exclusive character of these cigars, they are dressed with a double band. The first one is the classic band of the brand. The second one is the same colour as the humidor and stamped with the logo of Encuentro Amigos de Partagás en Italia, underlined by the words "Edición Especial 2020".
