Davidoff Giant Humidor

When Macassar and Palladium come together to form an exceptional masterpiece.

Enjoying a cigar is one of life's most distinct pleasures. However, careful care and storage are an absolute necessity in order to preserve its quality and aroma.

Zino Davidoff, aware of this necessity, was the first, in the mid-1950s, to introduce the personal cigar cabinet, beyond the old display cabinets that existed in the early 19th century. He decided to call it a "humidor".

Since then, Davidoff has been considered one of the leaders in humidor innovation. The company's craftsmen are constantly improving the design and quality of their humidors in order to provide cigars with optimal storage conditions. These are subject to the same quality requirements as Davidoff cigars. From the selection of materials to the design and performance of the humidification system, Davidoff's expertise is evident in every detail.

Thus, a Davidoff humidor is an emotional choice. The materials used and the perfect assembly of the components offer every user a real pleasure for the senses, both to the eye and to the touch.

This Giant Humidor, handcrafted in France by the finest cabinetmakers, is a perfect illustration of Davidoff's verve and style.

Its elegance is due in particular to the use of Macassar. A wonderful and very rare wood from South-East Asia, Macassar Ebony, or Diospyros Celebica as it is botanically known, has long been considered one of the most precious woods. The fact that the trees grow in isolation rather than in groups makes harvesting logistically difficult. In addition, the slow growth of Macassar Ebony, ranging from 60 to 200 years, considerably limits the marketable supply of logs.

In addition to its preciousness, Macassar Ebony has a unique aesthetic appearance. Its black to copper-brown grain is enhanced by no less than 20 coats of varnish. After application, the varnish is then corked by hand and polished to an incredible shine. The latter adds lushness and brings out the full brilliance of this dark wood.

Two imposing quadrant hinges, perfectly matched to the handles and lock, which are themselves made of Palladium, reveal an interior of African okoume wood.

The removable tray and the 14 dividers offer an ideal modularity to order the 250 cigars that this exceptional case can accommodate.

Thanks to the quality of the materials used and the know-how of the craftsmen who created it, this Giant Humidor, will be truly durable over time and will accompany its owner for many years to come.

As for the wood used to make the interior, okoume was selected for its odourless and breathable properties. The precision of their assembly offers excellent airtightness. This guarantees optimal conditions for the conservation of your cigars, in the order of 70 to 75% relative humidity. The three regulators release the humidity when the relative humidity falls below the ideal value. If the value increases, the regulator automatically absorbs the excess humidity. The system also has the ability to automatically correct the humidity fluctuation if necessary. If the humidity percentage increases due to external effects, it will automatically absorb the additional humidity and vice versa.

The technical perfection of this perfectly proportioned humidor is, beyond its intrinsic qualities, a real pleasure to the eye, worthy of hosting your most precious vitolas.
