We are in 1976 in the heart of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, a famous Parisian neighbourhood which was renowned for its craftsmanship for a long time, especially that of the 18th century cabinetmakers. It was in this exact location that the first Elie Bleu workshops opened their doors. It was the birth of what would become the epitome of "French know-how" in the creation of objects belonging to the world of "tabletterie": watches, jewelry, boxes, but above all, exceptional cigar humidors. And this, from rare wood species, manufactured in an artisanal "Haute Couture" spirit.
While the cigar market is booming in the United States, an American journalist discovers Elie Bleu cigar humidors and immediately recommends them to his readers. Thus, these precious works of art will quickly conquer an international audience, which will propel the House among the list of the best craftsmen of luxury accessories intended for the aficionados.
The first Elie Bleu boutique opened in the 8th arrondissement of Paris in 1997. Resulting from a real know-how, the quality of the humidors elaborated by Elie Bleu reaches an exceptional level. For its production, the manufacture gathers the noblest materials, by selecting the most precious woods and the rarest exotic species.
Making the marquetry, planning, fitting, sanding, varnishing, and polishing... This work of assembling and adjusting the wood requires a lot of know-how and precision. Worthy of the most meticulous jewelers, the House's passionate and specialized craftsmen work for four to six months to deliver one of these masterpieces with a resolutely distinguished appearance.

In China, each year corresponds to an animal, representing one of the 12 Chinese astrological signs (dog, rooster, rat, pig…). 2014 is the Year of the Horse, a year that will go down in history. In local folklore, legend has it that only 12 animals accepted the Jade Emperor's New Year's invitation. Each of them was assigned a year. One sign therefore returns in perpetual rotation with the other 11, every 12 years. For the first time, Elie Bleu took hold of it and fashioned the "Horse" humidor from wood to place himself under its celestial protection in the New Year, as he did for all those who chose him.
The material used for this humidor is stained flamed sycamore. This noble wood gives the object a natural beauty, with its delicate veins and refined texture. Each piece of sycamore is carefully selected to guarantee unrivalled quality.
The mark on this humidor is sealed by a marquetry sign, a subtle and elegant symbol that recalls the year of the horse. Every detail of the marquetry is handcrafted by skilled artisans. They capture the essence of the horse in their artistic work, combining finesse and passion.
The Horse humidor has a capacity of 110 cigars and is equipped with two humidifiers. These devices maintain a perfect level of humidity, preserving the aroma and texture of each cigar. The needle hygrometer lets you monitor and adjust the humidity precisely, guaranteeing optimum storage conditions.
