The Rare Pink Vintage 1960 Series is a reflection of that philosophy. Introduced in 2020, the collection is described by its creator as one of his last jewels. Each cigar is made in a perfecto shape, a distinctive format that tapers at both ends and calls for particular care in rolling and construction.

Behind the pink presentation lies a carefully assembled blend. An Ecuadorian wrapper covers a Dominican binder and a filler combining Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, including tobacco grown on the Fuente family farms in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic, at the heart of the Fuente family’s long-standing cigar-making tradition.

The experience is as varied as the decade that inspired it. Tasting notes reported across the range include hay, espresso, mocha, cream and sourdough, accompanied by touches of vegetal character and mineral nuances. On the retrohale, white pepper can meet a delicate floral sweetness, while creamy oak and cocoa notes add further depth as the cigar develops. As with any cigar, the balance and evolution of these flavours will depend on the individual experience.

The collection brings together a number of distinctive vitolas: Queen of Hearts, Short Story, Signature, Sophisticated Hooker and Work of Art. Each has its own proportions and personality, while sharing the same perfecto construction and the identity of the Rare Pink series.

Yet the story of Rare Pink reaches beyond its inspiration and craftsmanship. The pink colour is a deliberate reference to breast cancer awareness, a cause that has personal significance for the Fuente family. Liana Fuente has been actively involved in raising awareness and supporting research, following the loss of her grandmother and aunt to breast cancer. In connection with the series, Arturo Fuente pledged to donate US$13 for every box sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

It is a commitment that gives the collection another dimension. What began as a tribute to a decade that shaped Carlito Fuente has also become a way to support a cause that touches countless families.
