Avo Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Spring

Avo's four seasons are starting this spring.

In March 2023, AVO, the brand distributed by Davidoff, decided to launch a quartet of cigars that will honor the four seasons. This new limited edition series starts with a vitola celebrating spring: the AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Spring.

For this very first release, the chosen vitola is a Diadema (50 x 168 mm). It is composed of an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper, while the San Vicente seco binder as well as the filler, elaborated from San Vicente, Piloto Cubano and a hybrid tobacco called 192, are Dominican. Some of these varieties have been aged for 14 years! These cigars have been rolled by hand by the master rollers of the O.K. Cigars factory in the Dominican Republic.

Filled with 10 vitolas, the wooden box reflects a very spring-like atmosphere with its cap featuring several shades of green, as well as pretty decorations of plants and flowers, at a time when vegetation is coming back to life after a winter rest. The cigars are dressed in a double ring: the classic ring stamped with the logo of the brand and a secondary ring that presents a silver plant, on a background shaded with greens.

The production of the AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Spring is limited to only 4'000 boxes per season, which makes it a relatively confidential production.

Regarding the tasting of this vitola, the main aromas that emanate from it also contribute to recall the spring: woody flavors, cream, coffee, balanced by pleasant floral notes. It offers a captivating taste experience, which stimulates the senses with a medium intensity.

While the cigars celebrating the upcoming seasons will also be available in the format of a Diadema, they will each be made from a very different blend and will feature packaging designed to evoke the seasons they are named after.

About the brand:

Born in 1926 in BeirutAvo Uvezian began his musical career at a young age. Pianist and composer, he will be recognized for his talent in the world of jazz. During a trip to Switzerland in 1983 for the baptism of his daughter, he will taste a Cuban cigar and will not hide his shock at its price. Avo will then decide to elaborate cigars for his personal use.

He then moved to Puerto Rico and opened a piano bar, where he gave his customers a first taste of the cigars he made himself. Everyone being impressed by the flavor and quality of the vitolas, Avo Uvezian will decide to launch his own cigar brand.

He met Davidoff's cigar maker, Hendrik Kelner, who helped him sell his first cigars under the "Bolero" label in San Juan. He quickly changed the name of his brand to "AVO" and marketed his cigars in New YorkUSA.

In 1995Davidoff will buy the distribution rights of AVO and Avo Uvezian will see its production increase to 3.2 million cigars in 1997, against 5000 in 1987. Thus, he will continue to flourish in the tobacco business for many years.

"People always ask me, Avo, what's your secret?" he said at the time. "And I tell them that every time you smoke a cigar, you get an extra day of life. I think I'm going to do that until I'm 99 years old. That way, when I get to 99, I'll think, Well, I might as well go to 100."

Sadly, he will pass away on March 242017, at the age of 91. Avo Uvezian will leave behind his wife, Nivia, his sons RobertJeffrey and Ronny and his daughter Karyn.
