The line now known as Signature was born in 1968. The Davidoff Signature No. 2 is considered to be Zino Davidoff's favorite. It is a model that is relatively old, because it is a cigar that he already produced in Cuba before the production stopped in 1991 and then resumed in the Dominican Republic. It is one of the first cigars of the brand to have presented a module whose cap is a "Pigtail" shape, thus differentiating Davidoff from the other brands of cigars.
The Davidoff Signature No. 2 is an integral part of "The Difference" campaign, which highlights an unique production, starting with the tobacco crops, all the way through to the cigars being sold in stores: "Being different is an integral part of our DNA as a brand," says Edward Simon, CMO of Oettinger Davidoff AG, "Through our core values of craftsmanship, quality and consistency, we have been able to maintain our high standards for handmade cigars, even in the toughest of times. In other words, the difference lies in the Dominican passion for cigars and the Swiss precision that make up the White Band collection: only 10% of the seeds pass Davidoff's quality control and only the most perfect of them are planted; each cigar is handcrafted and passes through 300 hands before being tasted, and each of these hands applies personal expertise to what will become a unique tasting experience for each individual. In addition, all leaves are meticulously weighed before being rolled so that all blends contain the same amount of ingredients.
The vitola chosen by Davidoff for Signature No. 2 is a Panetela (38 x 152 mm), whose elegant length and fine cepo help intensify its characteristic flavors. It is carefully rolled in an Ecuadorian Connecticut Sun Grown wrapper and a Dominican wrapper and filler. Composed with Piloto Seco, San Vicente Seco and Olor Seco tobacco leaves, it is assembled by hand in the Cidav factory in Tabadom, Dominican Republic. The head of the cigar, topped with a "Pigtail", testifies to all the attention and expertise it has received.
Today, this emblematic cigar benefits from a new packaging, indeed, it is now available in pack of 5 units. The cigars are arranged in the pack, each dressed in the classic "White Band" ring as well as a secondary ring inscribed "Signature No. 2". It still exists in its usual format, in boxes of 25 units.
The Davidoff Signature No. 2 offers a captivating taste experience, which stimulates the senses with its medium intensity and unique flavors. From the very first puff, the subtle flavors of barley, toasted wheat, oak and dried fruit promise a sophisticated taste journey. It continues with a pleasantly smooth note of brown sugar and floral spices.
