Horacio Classic Series

A collection that shows a perfect collaboration between Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

Created from a blend of subtle tobaccos coming from the best terroirs of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, the Classic Series of Horacio has largely deserved its place within the various collections proposed by the brand.

It is constituted by a collection of 9 cigars, individually numbered from 0 to VIII. As all the vitolas of the brand, they are handmade in Estelí, the capital of the cigar in Nicaragua. While the filler also comes from this region, the wrapper is Ecuadorian and the binder is grown in Costa Rica. With such an assembly, the Classic Series of Horacio is the promise of a rich and tasty aromatic palette, for a cigar with a perfect aestheticism.

A short review of the 3 different cigars:

First of all, the opening vitola of this series: the Horacio 0. It is an impressive Magnum Gordo (64 x 178 mm) wrapped in a magnificent Colorado wrapper from Ecuador. It gives off aromas of tanned leather, pepper and dried herbs. Considering its size, the combustion is slow, homogeneous and offers a dense smoke and a relatively easy draw.

Let's continue with the Horacio I, a seductive Extra Robusto (60 x 153 mm) from which emanates scents of leather and plants. The draw, characterized by a slight resistance, produces a tasty smoke.

The Horacio II, whose "Sublime" module (54 x 165 mm) is unusual and rather rare, reveals earthy notes combined with a scent of dried fruits. Its smoke is rich and its construction perfectly smooth.

Next, the Horacio III is presented as a Duke (54 x 140 mm). It is dressed in the signature Ecuadorian wrapper with an oily finish. This cigar, while generously filled and substantial, offers a surprising delicacy.

Let's continue with the Horacio IV, a Petit Belicoso (64 x 114 mm) that stands out with its large cepo and distinctive shape. Its smooth and slightly oily wrapper delivers notes of dried fruits and fresh nuts.

We arrive at the Horacio V, a beautiful Short Magnum (54 x 121) with a closed foot. The main aromas that emerge from the oily wrapper are green pepper and forest scent. This well-constituted body reveals a medium strength.

The Horacio VI also shows an amazing construction with its cepo of 66 for a length of 100mm (66 x 100 mm)! As a result, its filler is dense and well furnished, while allowing an easy draw. This unusual module is perfect for connoisseurs.

We are nearing the end of this collection with the Horacio VII, which is the origin of the Horacio line. This Robusto (50 x 127 mm) has a rich, oily wrapper delivering leather and barn scents. The smoke which emanates from it remains relatively reasonable, what makes it a rather delicate cigar.

And finally, the Horacio VIII which is a Small Robusto (54 x 95 mm) that despite its size, gives off powerful aromas of dry grass, undergrowth and humus. Power and fervor are the perfect words to describe this cigar, indeed, the ignition is frank and instantaneous. This vitola, both complex and intense, shows a perfect mastery of tobacco blends.

Each of these cigars are available in boxes of 15 units.

About the brand:

If the Horacio brand remains particularly discreet, it has managed to make a name for itself among cigar lovers. Its story begins in 2006, when 3 friends decided to create an exceptional cigar, that be the perfect combination of the best tobaccos from Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

The 3 friends first started their production in Costa Rica for a few months, before moving to Estelí in Nicaragua, driven by their quest for excellence. This region is home to some of the best tobacco in the world and offers a concentration of cigar making know-how.

There, Christophe Leroy and Fabien Gil produce the vitolas, while Sylvain Toaldo, based in Switzerland, develops and distributes the brand worldwide. Indeed, the Swiss company Horacio Distribution has established its offices in Geneva.

Meticulousness and rigor are the elements that have allowed the brand to quickly make a name for itself on the tobacco scene. The cigars of character, hand-rolled with high quality leaves, have conquered a large public of aficionados. To satisfy their demands, the Horacio creative team regularly develops new products.

Nowadays, Horacio offers a wide range of cigars composed of 9 different collections: The Classic Series whose cigars are the result of a perfect blend; the Edicion Especial which since 2012 offers exceptional modules in limited series; the Maduro which is synonymous with intense aromas and delicacy; the OX declined in 4 modules each representing a universe of specific flavors; the Minotaur whose tobacco comes entirely from Costa Rica; the Final 8 offering 3 modules of medium strength; the Toaldo composed of a blend of Nicaraguan leaves and finally, the Estelí Club characterized by its cigars with short filler.
