For years, the idea remained unspoken. It took shape the day Abel Basulto realized that his father’s legacy deserved more than remembrance. It called for the continuation of a philosophy that left a lasting imprint on the Cuban tobacco industry.
Former co president of Habanos S.A., founder of TABACUBA and Vice Minister of Agriculture in Cuba, Oscar Basulto devoted his life to shaping the cigar world. The brand that now bears his name carries forward his values: rigor, integrity and respect for time.
Created in 2024, the brand is guided by a simple yet essential purpose: to tell a story.
True to Oscar Basulto’s convictions, the aromatic profile is built on balance. Neither excessive strength nor effortless smoothness. Complexity is controlled, construction is precise. Each tobacco leaf is selected with care, as part of a disciplined and sustainable approach.
The wrapper, a Habanos Clara, was chosen for its aromatic finesse and flawless combustion.
The Indonesian binder provides structure, smooth draw and consistent burn.
The filler brings together Nicaraguan leaves from Condega and Pueblo Nuevo, two complementary terroirs that contribute minerality and a deep earthy foundation, creating harmony and balance.
Faithful to Oscar Basulto’s belief that tobacco speaks to those who know how to listen, each leaf is fermented for two years, allowing oils to integrate and the tobacco to breathe.
Once rolled, the cigar rests for an additional three months, giving the blend time to achieve aromatic stability and coherence.
Launched in Switzerland at The House of Grauer, the cigar found a home where respect for the product, its history and its ritual is not a statement but a reality. Values that echo those of Oscar Basulto.
