At its Gala Dinner at the Lisboa Secret Spot in Lisbon on February 11, 2023, Habanos revealed the latest Rafael González vitola, the Coronas de Lonsdales. It was presented through its only Cuban cigar distributor in Portugal, EMPOR Importação e Exportação S.A. During the event, 110 aficionados had the chance to taste this new product.
The vitola chosen for this new cigar is a Hermoso No. 4 (48 x 127 mm) that has already been used by Habanos for different brands, such as El Rey del Mundo with its "Choix Suprême" cigar, present in the Colección Vintage 7 jar. The Rafael González Coronas de Lonsdales is the 4th cigar in the brand's regular catalog.
It is made "Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga" in Cuba, after a careful selection of the best tobacco leaves from the famous Vuelta Abajo, where the most recognized tobaccos in the world are grown. This Coronas de Lonsdales is characterized by sweet aromas of grass and dark chocolate, delivering a medium strength cigar. It is a module appreciated by the connoisseurs because it offers a complex aromatic profile for a relatively short tasting time, of one hour.
Concerning their design, the rings benefit from the new visual identity of the brand. They are resulting from new printing techniques, that allows a better readability of the text.
The wooden box of Rafael González cigars has also been updated, including a natural and minimalist look, featuring 10 Habanos.
