Since 2005, Switzerland has occupied a special place in the world of Habanos with the release of its own Ediciones Regionales Exclusivo Suiza. Produced in strictly limited quantities and available only on the Swiss market, these cigars have become highly sought-after by enthusiasts and collectors alike, combining rarity, craftsmanship, and the distinctive character of Cuba's lesser-known brands.

The concept of the Edición Regional was introduced by Habanos S.A. to allow official distributors to commission exclusive cigars for their respective markets. Unlike Limited Editions, Regional Editions are crafted using each brand's traditional blend while introducing a vitola that has either never existed within the brand's portfolio or has long disappeared from production. The result is a cigar that remains faithful to its identity while offering aficionados an entirely new smoking experience.

Only a select group of Habanos brands is eligible for these releases. Iconic names such as Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagás, Trinidad, and Cuaba are excluded, allowing brands like Punch, Ramón Allones, Juan López, Por Larrañaga, Diplomáticos and Quai d'Orsay to take centre stage and reveal another side of Cuban craftsmanship.

Each Swiss Regional Edition now proudly wears the unmistakable red and silver "Exclusivo Suiza" secondary band, recognized worldwide as the hallmark of these exceptional releases. Interestingly, the very first Swiss Regional Editions—the Ramón Allones Eminencia and Punch Robusto launched in 2005—preceded the introduction of this famous band, making them even more distinctive today.

One of the most remarkable tributes to the series arrived in 2013 with the legendary Combinaciones Humidor Exclusivo Suiza. Produced in only twenty individually numbered humidors, each handcrafted in Switzerland from cedar and precious Cuban woods, it brought together every Swiss Regional Edition released between 2005 and 2012, with two cigars from each edition. Signed by Silver Gmür and Martin Weber of Intertabak AG, it remains one of the most coveted Swiss Habanos collectibles ever produced.

Over the years, Switzerland has continued to enrich this remarkable collection, with each new release adding another chapter to the story of Exclusivo Suiza.
