The brand’s first vitola adorned with a prestigious band!
Launched in 2003 by Habanos, the Reserve Series has just welcomed a new vitola: the Bolívar Belicosos Finos Reserva Cosecha 2016!
The Reserve Series offers emblematic cigars from the regular catalogue of Habanos brands. Since 2012, the "Reserva" are launched every even-numbered year during the Festival del Habano. The odd years are dedicated to the Gran Reserva series, launched in 2009. Prior to 2012, the rhythm of "Reserva" cigar launches was more random, with 5 cigars in 2003 and none in 2010, for example.
In order to be worthy of receiving the prestigious Reserva band, the cigars, although produced regularly by the brand, are only made from carefully selected Vuelta Abajo tobacco leaves that have undergone a fermentation process of at least three years (compared to five years for the Gran Reserva). Thus, this new vintage is made with leaves harvested in 2016: Cosecha 2016.
The 2020 vintage is a derivative of the popular Belicosos Finos, a vitola introduced to the Bolívar catalogue before the Cuban Revolution. It is, moreover, the only Figurado in the brand's regular catalogue and has the reputation of being the fullest bodied Bolívar. However, thanks to the ripening of the tobacco leaves that make it up, the powerful blend of earthy aromas, cocoa and coffee beans has acquired a beautiful roundness, offering a remarkable tasting experience.
The production of Belicosos Finos Reserva 2020 is strictly limited to 5'000 boxes of 20 pieces. Each of these boxes is individually numbered and has a black lacquer finish, ostensibly varnished like a piano. Thus, these precious vitolas are enclosed in a case that reflects luxury and exclusivity.
Like all the prestigious Reserva vitolas, the Bolívar Belicosos Finos Reserva is dressed with a second black and silver band on which the initials R and R are stamped intertwined. This makes it easy to distinguish it from the standard version, whose measurements and main band are the same. The logo formed by the initials also appears on the top of the box.
